What is your PR Superpower?

I have always been able to find a news hook. No matter how hidden there is always a story to be told.

What do you love most about your role?

I love it when clients say that they did a deal more easily because of the work Champion has done. I also love watching my team develop.

What advice would you give any North American B2B brand coming to the UK?

Get your evidence in order. Our journalists and analysts tend to be more cynical.

What is your PR Superpower?

Organisation! It might not be the most exciting, but in this fast-paced world of PR, it’s so important. With so many different projects and deadlines spinning at once, being able to prioritise and manage moving parts and teams is key.

What do you love most about your role?

Honestly, there’s nothing quite like the buzz of landing media coverage for a client. Seeing all the hard work payoff is the best feeling! I also love getting to build close relationships with the incredible people I work with. Becoming a trusted partner and an extension of our client’s team is what Champion does best.

What advice would you give to any North American B2B brand coming to the UK?

The journalists in the UK want to hear from people who really know their stuff inside and out, and often are hesitant to speak to someone with sales or marketing in their titles. So, make sure you’ve got that credible figurehead who can speak authoritatively about your business and give those insights and opinions the media is after.

What is your PR Superpower?

I excel at delivering results that truly make a difference for my clients, whether that be helping them sell more, increase brand exposure or reach new audiences.

What do you love most about your role?

The dynamic nature of the work. Every day presents new challenges and opportunities to innovate, whether it’s developing creative campaigns, navigating crisis communications, or building meaningful relationships with journalists and stakeholders.

What advice would you give to any North American B2B brand coming to the UK?

My advice would be to prioritize cultural sensitivity and localization. While your brand may have established success in North America, understanding the unique nuances of the UK market is essential for building trust and credibility with British audiences.

What is your PR Superpower?

Whenever I connect with clients or the media, I try to see things from their perspective. Understanding their emotions and viewpoints helps me write better messages and build strong relationships.

What do you love most about your role?

Learning about innovative tech solutions that seek to make a positive impact in our world – I find it both challenging and exciting.

What advice would you give to any North American B2B brand coming to the UK?

Invest in understanding the UK market well, including consumer behaviour and regulations, then customise your messaging for local audiences.

What is your PR Superpower?

Alright, let’s be honest. My PR “superpower” isn’t exactly saving the world. But hey, at least I can charm the pants off reporters with my (admittedly diluted) Scottish accent and banter! Plus, if you ever need coverage, I’m your personal hype machine in a pinch.

What do you love most about your role?

Picking a favourite part of my job at Champion is tough! I love everything from media relations to media monitoring – it’s like being a news detective, constantly sniffing out the latest headlines. But what truly excites me the most is learning about how Champions clients tech solutions make a difference to their customer base and the broader landscape.

What advice would you give to any North American B2B brand coming to the UK?

Building a brand voice that resonates with the UK isn’t a sprint; it’s a marathon. While flashy campaigns might grab attention for a moment, true brand awareness and trust are built over time. Just like a deep friendship, it takes consistent interaction and shared experiences to create a lasting connection. Also, another tip – don’t just copy US messaging. Adapt it to UK grammar, terminology, and cultural references.

What is your PR Superpower?

My PR superpower is creativity. It enhances every aspect of a business, from problem-solving and drafting articles to brainstorming campaigns and troubleshooting. I enjoy thinking outside the box – it adds a little spice to the day!

What do you love most about your role?

The clients! Whether it’s creating a campaign, finding a unique angle in a press release, or catching up on weekly calls, I feel like an extension of their team. I love collaborating and seeing the satisfaction from a pleased client after creating something that truly reflects their brand and values.

What advice would you give to any North American B2B brand coming to the UK?

Understand your audience, including the media. Each region has its own nuances, expectations, and local practices, so be prepared with relevant case studies, figures, and a clear understanding of the questions being asked or the stories being told.
